Nick Duley, the President of North Shore HR Consulting Inc., has a natural curiosity into what makes people tick. After working in management for a security company for years he went back to university and obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and then a diploma in Human Resources. He moved into his first HR role in 1998 and has never looked back.
Nick has experience working with both private and public sector employers across a variety of industries. He has helped a rapidly growing multi-site manufacturing and distribution company to staff up to meet their customer’s ever-increasing demands while ensuring that their practices met legislative compliance.
He spent more than six years with an international business outsourcing organization in a national leadership position, supporting operations across five provinces and in Costa Rica.
Most recently Nick was an HR Consultant and Human Rights Officer with a notable post-secondary institution in Central Ontario. He supported client groups with their strategic and day-to-day employee issues while providing strategic talent acquisition leadership to the organization.
Nick has more than a decade of investigation experience. As Human Rights lead for the post-secondary institution he investigated and resolved many harassment, sexual harassment, and human rights issues involving students, staff, and the community.
Nick’s talent acquisition expertise encompasses experience conducting direct sourcing of highly specialized candidates for boutique headhunting firms. He has led the development of staffing and top talent strategies for large organizations, and has coordinated career fairs in various provinces as well as Costa Rica.
Nick has a talent in being able to build rapport with employees across an organization. He is able to leverage these relationships to ensure that complex employee and labour relations issues are addressed in an empathetic and positive manner that takes into account an organization’s obligations in an ever-changing legislative environment.
